Our Neonatal Unit within Walnut Ward provides expert care for newborn babies who are either preterm or seriously ill and require a higher level of medical and nursing care following birth.
We have 22 cots in our Special Care Baby Unit where we can provide care for babies who are born at 31 weeks and over. Three of our cots are designated to provide high dependency care, so we can stabilise and treat critically ill babies before transferring them to another unit.
The unit is run by neonatal nurses and paediatricians who together deliver high quality specialised care to treat newborn babies in need.
