Fairness in Career Progression Workshops - Face to Face
25 September 2025 1:30pm – 3:00pm
Event details
Location: The Study, Library, Phillip Farrant Centre Level 1
The EDI and Recruitment teams, and wider People Directorate are making a proactive effort to improve fairness in recruitment and career progression. We are delivering a number of interventions to improve, including Inclusive Recruitment Training for managers, career development workshops for staff and reviewing out recruitment process for equity, bias and inclusion.
We think we understand some of the barriers staff have experienced in career progression, but we need to know from staff members from their own experiences. This way we can make sure the interventions we are putting in place are targeting barriers most effectively.
If you have faced challenges in developing your career at DGT we would really like to hear from you in our focus groups and understand your experience. We are running 4 groups over September to learn more from our staff experiences. There will be in-person and virtual sessions, and we would like to hear from staff across the organization.
- All participants must agree to keep any discussions in the room, and they are not allowed to carry on discussions outside of the focus group.
- Attendance and participation will, under no circumstances, be shared with any manager, or any other staff members – only those attending will know who is participating.
- The only participant information shared will be total numbers of participants, e.g. ‘47 staff members participated including 11 Admin and clerical, 10 nursing, 15 AHPs…’ – the intent is to share the breadth of the participant pool to demonstrate the variety of feedback received.
- Any comments or feedback received during the session will be anonymised and summarised. Quotes may be used for impact, but only if the content does not identify any individuals.
- The final report will be sent to participants for feedback and support, and we will welcome any clarification if feedback has been misunderstood by the EDI Team.
- The goal of these focus groups is to highlight the unfair practices and experiences of our staff, and hold the trust to account.
Please note spaces are limited.
