I am having difficulty completing the application, do you provide assistance with this?

If you are having difficulty completing your application online via the TRAC recruitment system, please contact the Recruitment Team on dgn-tr.recruitment@nhs.net or 01322428518. Please let us know what you are having difficulty with and we can endeavour to support you. We can provide you with a paper application form, provide a computer and one on one support to submit the application. At this stage, we don’t have the ability to accept video applications.

We are unable to reset passwords or other technical issues. Please contact TRAC - 01629 690800 or info@trac.systems.

Is it mandatory to declare a disability as part of the application?

No. While we encourage all applicants to acknowledge any disabilities it is not a mandatory requirement. To ensure there is no discrimination against or disadvantaging anyone because disability the information is detached from the application and not provided to the recruitment panel reviewing the applications. The information helps the recruitment team support you and your application as it progresses through the recruitment process.

You will be asked throughout the recruitment process if you have a disability or a need for reasonable adjustments and you can declare a disability at any stage. These times include – when offered an interview, when given a conditional offer and when you undergo Health and Wellness review as part of employment screening. In addition, you can seek referral to Health and Wellness at any time during your employment free of charge.

Will I be guaranteed an interview?

No. Applicants who have declared that they have a disability AND meet the minimum requirements for the role will be invited for interview. The schedule does not guarantee all applicants who have declared a disability an interview.

I am neurodiverse, is my disability included in the list?

Yes – all disabilities that are expected to last for at least 12 months are included in the definition. Physical impairment, sensory impairment, mental health conditions, learning disability/difficulty, long standing illness and other disabilities.

I have been asked if any reasonable adjustments can be made at interview, what does this mean and what options are available?

When you are invited to interview you will be asked if we can make any reasonable adjustments to support your disability. As all applicants have individual needs and no two applicants are the same, reasonable adjustments are considered and made on a case by case basis. There is no exhaustive list of adjustments. Some examples are listed below:

  • The time of interview
  • Location
  • Lighting
  • Wheel chair access
  • Interpreter – sign langauage
  • More time to complete assessments
  • Interview questions in advance
  • Assistance if the test is on a computer, such as a larger screen or a person to read for you
  • Online or in-person interviews

Is there support available for the cost incurred when attending an interview?

While we don’t reimburse the cost of travel to and from interviews.

How do I request, reasonable adjustments for when I commence in the role?

As part of your recruitment process you will be asked to complete a Health and Wellness Health Questionnaire. It is essential that you answer all the questions fully and give plenty of additional information if you think your health may affect your work; this way we can advise your manager on any reasonable adjustments that may be required.
