Congratulations to part of our Simulation Team who were shortlisted in the Nursing Times Awards 2020 category for Emergency and Critical Care. The winners were announced last night, sadly they didn't win, but to us they will always be winners!

The team were nominated in the the Emergency and Critical Care section for their ‘Sudden Unexpected Death in Childhood’ study day. This is an inter-professional and interagency study day with input and attendance from the Ambulance Service, Kent Police and other agencies plus doctors and nurses. Simulation is used to facilitate discussion over peoples experiences and the processes from pre hospital to investigations after the event. This helps attendees, as best as possible to prepare for an unexpected child death. The simulation day assists attendees when it comes to real life situations, so that they are better prepared, and can also support parents and other staff members.

This study day is vitally important, and very worthy of its shortlisting at the awards. Well done to our team, we are extremely proud of you.
