Liaison Psychiatry Service
This service is run by Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust and operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Hospital staff can refer patients aged 18 and over for a mental health assessment and/or advice on management of the following conditions:
- self-harming or suicidal behaviours
- depression, anxiety
- psychosis, mania
- challenging or disturbed behaviour
- medically unexplained symptoms
- Patients in the ED call the office or mobile to make a referral.
- Patients on wards complete an e-referral on PAS – Clinical Documents > Psychiatry > LPS referral form > email referral form to KMMH.DartfordLPS@nhs.net
- 1 hour for A&E referrals & Tambootie Ward (Maternity)
- 24 hours for ward based referrals
