Our the Surgical Assessment Unit (SAU) opened in February 2021 to improve the care of our surgical patients by providing an area for rapid assessment and decision-making. The SAU has made a marked improvement with our patients seen in the Emergency Department and has also reduce length of stay, which has really enhanced and improved our patients experience.
Today they celebrated the achievement of a milestone of 1000 presentations in just 4 months of activity! Congratulations to all the hard-working team involved in SAU. Also a special thank you to Janis Matthews, Pre-assessment Staff Nurse for the fabulous cake which was amazing.
