The Maternity and Neonatal teams at Darent Valley Hospital have been recognised for improvements in three of the nine interventions outlined by the Prem 7+ project.

The Prem 7+ project is the South East Maternity Team’s perinatal project based on the British Association of Perinatal Medicine’s best practice toolkit. It recognises nine interventions (listed to the right), each of which help to improve the outcomes of babies born prematurely. The teams at Darent Valley Hospital have demonstrated improvements in Optimal Cord Management, Intrapartum Antibiotic Prophylaxis and Early Maternal Breastmilk.

All three improvements demonstrate how well the Maternity and Neonatal departments work together and their dedication to improving the outcomes of our most preterm babies. Well done to everyone involved and thank you for helping to provide the very best care to our families.
