Today marks International Nurses' Day and the birthday of Florence Nightingale. To celebrate this important date, Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust hosted various events throughout the day across both Darent Valley and Queen Mary hospitals.

Our specialist nurses represented colleagues across the Trust and held a stand in the main entrance of Darent Valley Hospital, where they presented cakes and information about the important work they do for our patients. Some of our colleagues were dressed as Florence Nightingale and a message tree was also displayed for people to leave notes for our nurses.

Festivities were also held in our staff Wellbeing Marquee, where colleagues were able to take part in a nurse-themed quiz and indulge in some more sweet treats.

Celebrations will continue into this evening, when senior nurses will be making their way round to the wards this evening to deliver goodies to our night staff.

Thank you to all of our wonderful nurses for your hard work, dedication and for the fantastic care you provide to our patients and community.
