Who is the service for?
The Theatre Scheduling teams are based at Darent Valley Hospital and Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup. They are the main point of contact for patients who are waiting or who have already been scheduled for surgery, or an endoscopy procedure.
What does the service provide?
Theatre Scheduling provide information to patients regarding their surgery and when they can expect to be scheduled. They also book pre-operative appointments to all patients so that we can provide the best possible care to patients when they are admitted under our care.
The Theatre Scheduling Department at Darent Valley Hospital and Queen Mary’s Hospital is a telephone based service only.
The Theatre Scheduling Department is open between 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. Please avoid contacting the department to query about waiting times.
Attending a Pre-Assessment Clinic appointment is not confirmation that you will be attending your surgery. Please be advised that the Theatre Scheduling Department will contact you with a date for your surgery once you are deemed fit for surgery and a date is available. Please note, that you will have your operation at Queen Mary’s Hospital or Darent Valley Hospital.
