The rheumatology service provided by Medway NHS Foundation Trust at Darent Valley Hospital moved permanently to the Fleet Healthcare Campus, Vale Road, Northfleet on the 1st August 2019.
The service continues to be provided by Medway NHS Foundation Trust by the same consultants and support team. All appointments already made will be honoured on the same date and time at Fleet Healthcare where possible. Medway NHS Foundation Trust has written to all patients, in order of their appointment date, to inform them about the change.
Providing care in your community
The change in location is being made as part of ongoing work by Medway NHS Foundation Trust to provide services in accessible, community-based locations that are convenient for patients. The only exception will be for those patients requiring infusions, which will be centralised at Medway Maritime Hospital, Gillingham.
The change aligns with the NHS Long Term Plan and its focus on providing more care in local communities. The change has been agreed between Medway NHS Foundation Trust, Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley Clinical Commissioning Group and Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust.
