Consultations
When you arrive you will be asked to provide a urine sample and take a seat in the waiting room. We will then call you round to measure blood pressure and test the urine, then ask you to take a seat in the waiting room until the doctor is ready to see you.
Your consultation with the doctor will involve taking your medical history and making a plan for your pregnancy. They may wish to see you again or discharge you back to your community midwife depending on the complexity of your pregnancy.
Although you will have a named consultant, you may be seen by a more junior doctor within the team. Your care will be discussed and agreed with the senior doctor in clinic. If you wish to see the consultant, please request this at the desk when you check in.

Due to current capacity pressures and to ensure we continue to provide safe, high qaulity maternity care, we have made the decision to restrict maternity bookings for women and birthing people who live outside our usual catchment area. Patient safety remains our highest priority, and this measure will help us maintain safe staffing levels and ensure we can provide the best possible care for those accessing our services. We recognise that this may be disappointing for some families and appreciate your understanding. This decision will be reviewed regularly, taking into account service capacity and patient safety, and we will provide updates on our website.
