Consultations
When you arrive you will be asked to provide a urine sample and take a seat in the waiting room. We will then call you round to measure blood pressure and test the urine, then ask you to take a seat in the waiting room until the doctor is ready to see you.
Your consultation with the doctor will involve taking your medical history and making a plan for your pregnancy. They may wish to see you again or discharge you back to your community midwife depending on the complexity of your pregnancy.
Although you will have a named consultant, you may be seen by a more junior doctor within the team. Your care will be discussed and agreed with the senior doctor in clinic. If you wish to see the consultant, please request this at the desk when you check in.

Out of Area
If you wish to deliver your baby at Darent Valley but do not live in our geographical area you will be assigned a community midwife that will complete your booking appointment. If you live in Essex or Medway you will be seen by your local midwife. If you live in Bexley you will be seen by midwives from our community team. For more information, please call 01322428190.
