DGT's Sickle Cell Support Group Volunteer Parent Lead, Grace Bolaji, has received national recognition for her outstanding contribution to our community. Courtesy of NHS Charities Together, which, in collaboration with Starbucks and Global Radio, initiated an initiative for individuals involved in funded projects, DGT's Sickle Cell Support Group was privileged to be among the three selected beneficiaries.
In a heartwarming gesture, a radio crew from Heart Breakfast, led by hosts Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston, visited the Children’s Resource Centre at Darent Valley Hospital on 28 November to surprise Grace Bolaji. Lindsey Russell (former Blue Peter presenter) explained the profound impact she has made as a volunteer parent lead, the overwhelmingly positive feedback received from patients and their families and handed Grace an amazing gift - a family trip to Turkey.
