Today, CEO Louise Ashley cut the ribbon on our brand new Surgical Assessment Unit (SAU), which will support patients sent from their GP or our the Emergency Department (A&E). This is a result of staff commitment to the service and even during this pandemic working above and beyond to continually improve patient care and experience
The SAU assesses patients who have a confirmed or probable surgical condition and the unit will improve flow by reducing admissions and inpatient length of stay. It will also seek to minimise and remove delays in patient pathways through the streamlined assessment, investigation and treatment (including surgery) of certain conditions.
