Oliver Cujic, a third year medical student who, alongside his studies, has taken on a new role with us at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust as a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to gain a wider perspective of the working in the NHS and a greater exposure to patient care.
Speaking about his motivation for doing this, Oliver said:
“I'm currently a third year medical student at the University of Nottingham and have been working as a bank HCA during my summer holidays. I wanted to work as a HCA because I thought it would be a great experience and it's helped me appreciate the nursing side of patient care, which I am sure will make me a better doctor in the future. It's nice to get some patient exposure in the early years of clinical medicine, especially with many placements being cancelled because of the pandemic.”
Thank you, Oliver, your dedication is an inspiration and we wish you every success in your studies!
