The Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Team at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust has been recognised on the international stage for their exceptional work in nurturing talent and strengthening infection prevention practices.
At this year’s International Infection Prevention Society (IPS) Impact Awards, the DGT IPC Team, represented by Kris Khambhaita, Sarah Thomas, and Megan Wilton, received the 2025 IPS Impact Award for Nurturing IPC Talent.
This award celebrates teams who have demonstrated innovation and excellence in supporting the growth and development of the future infection prevention and control workforce.
The DGT IPC Team was commended for their outstanding initiative in establishing the Housekeepers’ IPC Champions Programme, a scheme designed to empower housekeeping staff with enhanced IPC knowledge and skills. This initiative has strengthened collaboration across departments and further embedded a culture of infection prevention throughout the Trust.
Their inspiring work and commitment to developing IPC excellence led them to triumph in this highly competitive category.
Please join us in congratulating Kris, Sarah, Megan, and the entire Infection Prevention and Control Team on this remarkable achievement!
