We are delighted to announce that on Saturday 17th September we welcomed into the world the 90,000th baby born at Darent Valley Hospital since opening in September 2000. A huge congratulation to new parents Megan Williams and David Fell on the birth of the adorable and very handsome Archie. Midwife Jane Hardinges assisted with welcoming little Archie, who was born at 05.03, weighing in at a respectable 3362g (7lb 7oz).
We would like to wish the new little family the very best of luck and how wonderful that little Archie is a record breaker at Darent Valley Hospital!
Also a couple of little additional facts: in 1971 the Trust had 50 maternity beds and 6 SCBU cots and delivered an average of 2500 babies a year, now with the same number of beds that yearly figure has virtually doubled. Plus Wembley Stadium has a capacity of 90,000, so if all of our babies were together at Wembley we could fill the stadium!
