Overview
The Trust has a strong commitment to the Education, Training and Development of its staff to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe and compassionate care to our patients and their carers. The Trust is proud of achieving, and retaining the Investors in People award and this is a clear indication of this commitment.
Led by the Director of Medical Education (DME), the Medical Education Directorate works towards improving and assuring the quality of medical training provided at Darent Valley Hospital. We aim to improve the recognition of the Trust as a Centre of Excellence for lifelong learning, fostering a culture of enthusiasm for excellent teaching and learning among all grades of staff.
Our Vision is to deliver exceptional medical education and training that enhances knowledge, skills, and behaviours—fostering excellence in patient care and safety. We are committed to providing a high-quality training experience for all medical staff, expanding training opportunities across professional groups, and supporting clinicians at every stage of their careers within DGT.
