Mr Krissen Chettiar is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Darent Valley Hospital and Queen Mary’s Hospital in Sidcup. He specialises in lower limb surgery and trauma reconstruction. His main interest is hip / knee replacement and revision surgery. He also has an interest in young adult hip pathology, trauma, enhanced recovery surgery and rehabilitation. Special clinical interests: hip surgery, knee surgery, revision hip surgery, revision knee surgery, forefoot surgery and enhanced recovery.

He qualified from St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington Imperial College graduating in 2000. He also has a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and a Masters in Medical Law and Ethics. Kris is active in teaching, research and audit. He has published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and presented his research both nationally and internationally.

His specialist orthopaedic training was undertaken in the South East. He has also completed three Orthopaedic Fellowships, two in hip surgery at Frimley Park Hospital, another in Calgary Canada, and a trauma fellowship in Canada.

Kris spends his free time with his three young children, he also plays football regularly, is a keen skier and enjoys clay pigeon shooting.
