About me

I am a fulltime NHS Haematology consultant at Dartford and Gravesham NHS since July 2018. Studied medicine and completed my MBBS / Ptychio Iatrikes in 1998 in my homecountry Greece EU, Athens Kapodistrian Medical School. My Haematology Specialist accreditation PCCT 2007 was completed in Laikon General Hospital Athens under professor Gerassimos Pangalis.

June 2008: I received a postgraduate scholarship on ‘Haemostatic Disorders/Haemophilia’ which I served in the Haematology department/Haemophilia Centre at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh in Scotland as a Clinical Research Fellow under professor Christopher Lundlam for one year 2008-09.

2009 till 2015:family relocation back to Greece, I focused originally on molecular lab and clinical research. I worked for 12 months in the Haematology Laboratory of the University of Athens School of Medicine in Laikon hospital on a Research project titled ‘Secondary resistance in chronic myeloid leukaemia’ and at the same time was engaged as subinvestigator in commercial clinical trials for lymphoma. Thereafter I was employed as fulltime locum haematology consultant for five years. My professional experience is shaped by exposure to all range of haematologic disease both in district hospitals and central city departments with my main interest in Haemato-Oncology, liaison haematology and coagulation disorders.

  • December 2015 till now: London is my permanent family residence as a British citizen with dual nationality. I live with my husband who is a urology consultant in Croydon hospital . My professional experience in England UK:

  • June 2016 till February 2017: full time Clinical Fellow in Haemato-Oncology at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton branch in London.
  • February 2017 till June 2018: BMT Clinical Fellowship, full time non-training role, in the Haematology Department at King’s College Hospital in London with interest in Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant field.
  • July 2018 till current : Consultant in Haematology at Dartford and Gravesham NHS, North Kent & visiting Haematology consultant at King’s College Hospital, London in the Bone Marrow Failure Myeloid clinic.

My appointment in the NHS at Dartford is fulltime with additional roles since 2019: Blood Transfusion Service clinical lead, Adult Sickle cell Service lead (the latter is ending Dec’25), Trust Immunoglobulin Kent regional Panel representative. Lastly, but not least, I am engaging regularly in teaching of the haematology Registrars and Trust resident doctors, I am trained as an Educational and Clinical supervisor. My registration with the GMC is full with license to practice as a specialist since 2015, reg no 7004915. I am also a member of the Royal College of Pathologists (No 229793), member of national and international medical associations: British Society for Haematology, European Society of Haematology, International Society of Haemostasis and Thrombosis and the Hellenic Haematology Association.
