Darent Valley Hospital welcomed Sir Jonathan Montgomery, Regional Chair for NHS England South East (14 July), as part of a wider programme of visits to NHS organisations across Kent and Medway.
The visit was led by Dr Jackie Craissati, Chair of Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust, alongside Di Gambrell, Interim Chief Nurse, and Professor Sriprasad, Interim Chief Medical Officer.
During the visit, Sir Jonathan toured the Emergency Department, Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU) and Maternity Services, meeting colleagues and learning more about the care provided to patients and families across Dartford, Gravesham and the surrounding communities.
The visit provided an opportunity to showcase the dedication, expertise and professionalism of staff working across these services, while highlighting the collaborative work taking place to deliver safe, high-quality care and improve patient outcomes.
As part of his visit, Sir Jonathan spent time speaking with staff, hearing about their experiences and discussing both the opportunities and challenges facing frontline services.
The Trust would like to thank all colleagues in the Emergency Department, Hyper Acute Stroke Unit and Maternity Services who took the time to meet with Sir Jonathan, answer his questions and share their insights. Their enthusiasm, knowledge and commitment to providing outstanding care helped make the visit both informative and successful.
