Congratulations to our maternity teams and colleagues from the Alcohol Care Team, who have been shortlisted for four HSJ Patient Safety Awards.
Our maternity services have been recognised in three categories:
- Early-Stage Patient Safety Innovation of the Year for Reducing Postpartum Haemorrhage Rates
- Patient Safety Team of the Year for Maternity and Gynaecology Patient Safety Team
- Patient Involvement in Safety Award for Lived Experience Videos Improving Listening to Families
We are also delighted that our Alcohol Care Team has been shortlisted in the Quality Improvement Initiative of the Year category for Transforming Outcomes for Patients with Alcohol Dependency Through a Multidisciplinary Alcohol Care Team Model.
These national awards celebrate teams and organisations that are making a real difference to patient safety and quality of care across the NHS. The shortlist was announced on 8 June, with winners due to be revealed at the HSJ Patient Safety Awards ceremony on 28 September 2026.
Being shortlisted is a fantastic achievement and recognition of the commitment, expertise and innovation of our colleagues. It reflects the hard work of teams who continually strive to improve care, listen to patients and families, and deliver safer outcomes for those we serve.
