We were delighted to officially launch the Dartford Lung Cancer Screening Programme at the Priory Centre, bringing free Lung Health Checks closer to our community.
In its first week, the team completed more than 100 Lung Health Checks, including an incredible 54 in a single day at the launch event.
Together, we're making it easier for people to access screening and helping detect lung cancer earlier, when treatment is most effective.
From the end of July, patients will be screened at the new North Kent Community Diagnostic Centre in Dartford. Eligible people aged 55 to 74 who have ever smoked will be invited for a free Lung Health Check. As lung cancer often has no symptoms in its early stages, the programme aims to detect it as early as possible, giving people the best chance of successful treatment.
