Current Awareness Bulletins

The library offers a current awareness service where our members can be notified of new publications in a relevant field. We currently run this tailored service on subjects such as Education and Midwifery  as well as two fortnightly bulletins called Ten Tasters - Medicine (which features selected articles from journals including The Lancet and BMJ) and Nursing News (providing a review of recent articles from major nursing journals including Nursing Standard, British Journal of Nursing and the Journal of Advanced Nursing).

Our bulletins include details of new books, articles and other relevant publications. Many of the links contained in our bulletins will be to abstracts but there are links within the bulletins should you wish for us to obtain copies of any full-text articles or if you encounter any problems accessing the links.

If you would like to receive these bulletins as soon as they are produced then please click here to go to the form to be added to the mailing lists. There are also Kent wide current awareness bulletins you can join too.

Healthcare Management and Administration

Alert services can be set up to help keep up to date with national changes in a given area such as:

  •  GOV.UK for where you can adapt your alert service to include different government bodies like the Department of Health, or on different topics, policies or individuals.
  • The Kings Fund for new polices, guidance, news, reports etc.
  • Nuffield Trust a source for evidence based research and policy analysis to improve the quality of healthcare in the UK.

Please contact the library for more information and if you need any help in setting these up.
