Religion and belief

When we are treating you, we take into account:

  • Language
  • Diet
  • Hygiene
  • Religion and religious practices at times of birth, death and bereavement

Staff are able to access information on the  above issues to ensure that appropriate care is given to all our patients. A very useful multifaith calendar has been produced by the BBC, to help you learn more about the world's religions.

Legal Framework

A number of pieces of legislation that provide protection from discrimination, victimisation and harassment for employment and the delivery of goods, services and facilities.

  • Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003

  • Equalities Act 2006 outlaw discrimination in provision of services, exercise of public functions etc on grounds of religion and belief.
