Gynaecology

Our service is an outpatient and inpatient service at Darent Valley Hospital and our Planned Care Centre at Queen Mary’s Hospital, Sidcup.

New Services for patients:

A new one-stop clinic for the treatment of heavy menstrual bleeding, including diagnostic hysteroscopy

Patients can receive expert care for heavy periods as a one-stop clinic at our Planned Care Centre, Queen Mary’s Hospital Sidcup. This service is led by our specialist consultants Mr Kovoor and Miss Rana. At Darent Valley Hospital, Dartford, this service is led by Miss Singh and we have also introduced a nurse-led service.

Flexible cystoscopy and Botox for overactive bladder

The Trust offers patients another option for relief of their urinary incontinence symptoms through the use of Botox in the treatment of overactive bladder as an outpatient appointment which means they no longer need to travel to a tertiary specialist centre for this service. This is led by our specialist consultants Mr Gupta and Mr MacDermott.

Therapeutic Hysteroscopy

Patients can now receive expert treatment for the removal of endometrial polyps at our outpatient clinic at Darent Valley Hospital, rather than having to undergo a general anaesthetic. The Myosure polypectomy procedure is incision-free and performed on an outpatient basis under local anaesthesia at the Gynaecology Clinic at Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford. Our clinics take place on the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month by our female Gynaecology Consultant Miss Singh.
