Blanket Appeal

Blanket Appeal

Our sincere thanks to all those who have been busy knitting and crochet blankets for our older patients. So far we have received over 50 blankets, please keep them coming! Rita Henderson, a patient on Ebony Ward has been using her blanket during the day to keep her legs warm and she is very much looking forward to taking it home so she can continue using it. Due to infection control, each patient gets to keep their special blanket on discharge.

It is so lovely when you walk onto Ebony ward, each bed has its own brightly coloured blanket, making the ward feel really homely. The blankets also help older patients, some with dementia, find their way back to bed more easily, leading to fewer falls on our busy medical ward.

If can help with knitting or crocheting a blanket for our patients, please make them patterned, use bright colours and 3ft square. For more information please visit: https://www.valleyhospitalcharity.org.uk/knitting-and-sewing. Please bring your blankets to the Darent Valley Hospital main reception or the Fundraising Dept and we will distribute them to the wards.

Thank you for helping us, help our patients.
