Louise Ashley appointed CEO

The Trust is pleased to announce that Louise Ashley has been appointed as the new substantive Chief Executive of Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust (DGT). The appointment was made following open competition and a national search.


Following her clinical career, Louise took up her first Executive Director of Nursing role in Newham hospital in 2002. Since then she has worked across acute Trusts in London in a variety of Executive Director roles. Louise is currently Chief Operating Officer (Deputy Chief Executive) and Chief Nurse at Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust where she has worked since 2012.


Louise said: "I am absolutely delighted to be appointed as Chief Executive to Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust. There is an obvious commitment by the staff at the Trust to providing high quality care to patients with compassion and skill and the 'family feel' really shines through. I'm very much looking forward to working with staff, patients and all our stakeholders to continue to provide the best possible care and services to the patients we serve."


Trust Chairman, Peter Coles welcomed Louise to the Trust saying: “I am delighted that Louise will be joining us as our new Chief Executive. Louise brings with her an excellent knowledge of the NHS with extensive experience gained through working in healthcare at all levels, including clinical and managerial. She has extensive NHS leadership experience, and is passionate about ensuring high quality services for patients.


Details of Louise's start date will be confirmed in due course, in the meantime Gerard Sammon will continue to act as CEO.
