This time we welcomed two groups, one from a local Brownies group and one from a mixed Brownies and Rainbows group. The aim of these hospitals is to alleviate any fears the Rainbows may have regarding coming into hospital and to teach them what a positive experience it can be. 14 September 2018

The day itself, is the culmination of a global effort to educate and engage both the general public and political powers in the steps required to lower the incidence of deaths caused by Sepsis.   • HAHT HAHT Turns 10Happy 10th Birthday to our Hospital at Home Team (HAHT) who started their service on 1st August 2008. The aim of the HAHT is to provide short term acute medical care within the homes of our patients. Two of the original team members remain Clare Yates and Penny Taylor. 01 August 2018

  • Marry.jpg Couple Marry in just 24 HoursOn Wednesday 4th April Mandy Helen Lucitt aged 57 and Kevin McCarthy aged 62 from West Kingsdown tied the knot on Oak Ward at Darent Valley Hospital (DVH). Mandy and Kevin have been together for 42 years and have three children Jessica, Rudi and Ryan although sadly they lost Ryan to cot death in 1984. 02 May 2018

MS can affect the brain and/or spinal cord, causing a wide range of potential symptoms, including problems with vision, arm or leg movement, sensation or balance. 02 May 2018
  • Chairs Maternity.jpg New Reclining Chairs in MaternityWe have taken delivery of 42 new reclining leather chairs for dads and birthing partners to use. These are definitely more comfortable than our old ones, allowing partners to sit in comfort whilst they are supporting our new Mum's. 02 May 2018

They presented a cheque for £750 to Prof. Madaan, who talked to them about the exciting developments in urology that are being assisted by Valley Hospital Charity funds. 02 May 2018

  • Toby Scott Babies Who Share New Royal Baby's BirthdayCongratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge who yesterday welcomed into the world at 11.01am their third child, a boy. Here at Darent Valley Hospital (DVH) we saw 16 babies born on the same day, 9 boys and 7 girls. One of the boys, Toby James Scott who parents Natalie and Ben are from Erith was born just 1 minute after the royal baby, weighing in at 7lb 8oz. 24 April 2018

  • PCC.jpg Planned Care Centre OpenedDartford and Gravesham NHS Trust celebrated the official launch of its Planned Care Centre (PCC) at Queen Mary's Hospital on the 11th April. Peter Coles, Chairman for the Trust congratulated all staff on their hard work and dedication in making the PCC such a success. The PCC treats patients from Bexley and surrounding areas; as well as Dartford offering expert patient care. It provides a range of clinical services delivered by Queen Mary's Hospital staff and those from DVH in Dartford. 12 April 2018

In the hospital's foyer our Parkinson's Nurse Drinda Harrington, along with members of the Gravesend Support Group and also Volunteer Co-ordinator Nansubuga Kolawole from Parkinson's UK manned a stand. 12 April 2018

  • Snow 2018 Ice Ice BabyDuring the recent disruption caused by the Beast from the East and Storm Emma the maternity department had sNOw problem coping thanks to dedicated staff who braved the elements to ensure that it was business as usual. Many staff worked extra shifts or even stayed overnight in some cases to make sure that there was no disruption to services both in the hospital and out in the community. 08 April 2018
