Sue Barrett Wins Award

Sue Barrett, Parking and Security Operative at Darent Valley Hospital has been selected a winner at a recent Indigo award ceremony held on the 8th December at the Royal Airforce Museum, Hendon. Indigo manage the car parks and external security at Darent Valley Hospital. There were a total of 140 nominations over 12 categories and congratulations to Sue on winning her category “outstanding off-street parking”.

Alex Cleland, Regional Commercial Manager for Indigo said “Sue absolutely represents the best of Indigo in the off street environment. She provides amazing customer service and support to people in difficult situations. She is very funny and keeps up moral, and often will stay past her shift to assist both staff and customers.

Sue is always willing to help, even when it is far from her duties, and example being a distressed and vulnerable lady being admitted to the hospital and requiring a bed watch. Sue took over from the external security provider and stayed with the lady throughout her treatment. She managed a difficult situation calmly and professionally. This is not a one off but I just happened to be there when this occurred. She has an amazing ability to provide genuine empathy to people in difficult situations. She provides a maternal like figure and gets people to consider their actions before things get any worse."

Sue said "It was a lovely surprise - it was nice to be recognised for my work and I`m happy that I help to make a difference" .
