  • DSC_0174.JPG Diabetes Team Raising Awareness of Diabetic KetoacidosisDiabetes Team are raising awareness of Diabetic Ketoacidosis by visiting adult wards with their Diabetes Tea Trolley and asking staff to complete a diabetes questionnaire. The trolley will be making its way around the hospital for the rest of the week and started on Beech Ward. 12 December 2017

The NHS Newborn Hearing Screening Programme (NHSP) went live across England in 2006 so is now 10 years of age.   • Myosure.jpg Gynae Dept Now Offer hysteroscopic polypectomy with MyosureWomen now have more choice as the Gynaecology Outpatient Department is pleased to offer women outpatient hysteroscopic polypectomy with Myosure. The Myosure polypectomy is an outpatient procedure, performed on an outpatient basis using a local anaesthetic, to remove small uterine polyps. 11 April 2017

  • Volunteer of the Year Volunteer of the YearOur congratulations to Joan Warwick and Carol Woodgates who were judged by the audience to be the winners in their category Volunteer of the Year. Their nomination reflected the £394,000 that they have raised for Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust Cancer Fighting Fund through the Stride4Life annual event, pamper evenings and engagement with the local community. 28 March 2017

  • Ebony Cinema.jpg Morning at the FlicksAfter all the patient washes were completed Ebony Ward, which cares for older people turned one of their bays into a morning at the flicks. The curtains were drawn, chairs and beds moved into place and the large screen television switched on. 03 February 2017
  • Afternoon Tea.jpg Dementia Afternoon TeaEvery fortnight the Marks and Spencer's based at Darent Valley Hospital kindly donate cakes to Ebony Ward, that are then given to patients and their families as part of a nostalgic afternoon tea.   • Sue Barrett Wins Award Sue Barrett Wins AwardSue Barrett, Parking and Security Operative at Darent Valley Hospital has been selected a winner at a recent Indigo award ceremony held on the 8th December at the Royal Airforce Museum, Hendon. Indigo manage the car parks and external security at Darent Valley Hospital. There were a total of 140 nominations over 12 categories and congratulations to Sue on winning her category outstanding off-street parking. 04 January 2017
