Outstanding performance in Energy & Sustainability

 Publis Sector Energy Champion winner

Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust won a second sustainability award on 17 November for its ‘Green Watch’ campaign!  The Trust came first at the Public Sector Energy & Sustainability Awards 2016, in the category 'Public Sector Energy Champion'. Lord Redesdale, presented the award to the Trust’s Sustainability Lead, Petros Antoniou.

The award follows on from the Trust’s recent success at the NHS Sustainability Awards 2016 where it won in the category ‘Infrastructure and Design’.  The organisation was also shortlisted for a prestigious HSJ award in the category Improving Environmental and Social Sustainability, but just missed out.

Petros Antoniou said: "We are honoured to have won these awards which demonstrate our commitment to energy efficiency and a greener, healthier environment for everyone.  Our Green Watch campaign, with its distinctive logo, is all about changing the way that we all use energy, recycle waste and reduce our carbon footprint.  Our combined heat and power plant is a significant step in the right direction and reduced our carbon emissions by a massive 25%. To have our efforts recognised in this way is a genuine accolade and we will continue to strive for excellence in the field of sustainability."
