Darent Valley Hospital and our others sites can be busy place for patients, relatives and friends so in this section you’ll find details what to do if you are coming into hospital for an appointment or treatment and what you should know about if you are visiting a friend or relative.

If you need any further help before, during or after your visit, our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) is here to help.  Whether you are a patient or visitor, PALS can offer on-the-spot help and will be able to guide you, your family and friends through the different services available within hospital.

Confirmation of Surgery

Attending the Pre Assessment Clinic is not confirmation that you will be attending your surgery. If you wish to continue with your surgery on the date provided you must confirm this separately with the Theatre Scheduling Department.

Cancelling appointments / operations

If you have an appointment or operation booked at Darent Valley Hospital and you need to cancel or change it, you can do so simply by completing one of these forms:

Hospital Information Leaflet

All patients who are admitted to hospital as in-patients either as emergency or elective admissions will be given a leaflet called Hospital Information for Patients Leaflet. The leaflet communicates in 9 simple steps what patients can expect to happen from arrival to discharge.  Keeping well and those all-important useful contacts are included.
